Artists in Action
Our gallery is part studio: an artist is often working on a project and is happy to talk to you about the process or just let you observe. You might even have a chance to join in.
Most days are WYSIWYG. Sometimes artists plan ahead and we can post future sessions here.
FUTURE SHOWS
June 1 - July 6, 2010
ACM Member Jim Moorehead: Photography.
The show, Wildlife Images in a Dry Country, presents dramatic scenes in Tansania, East Africa, during a severe drought. Join us on safari, through his visuals, to experience the heat, dust, desperate search for water, and adaptive behaviors, that affected the animals Jim captured with his camera. Sites visited include Serengeti Plain, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, and the slopes of Kilimanjaro. Refreshments at the Second Saturday opening will relieve the parched feeling that might develop while engaged in the show.

Did you know....
that the well-stocked Art Supplies section at Harvest Market at Mendosa’s in Mendocino is the effort of our own ACM member Cliff Larson? If you haven’t been there lately, check it out. He makes decisions based on local workshops and instructors’ supply lists (without infringing on items instructors prefer to sell themselves) as well as tapping his own expertise as an artist. The variety of products continues to grow. Cliff will be happy to make special orders for individual artists (like us!) and to follow up on suggestions for additional materials that should be included. Well done Cliff!

Two Shows!
Shanti Balsé: Mystical Journeys
Shanti says this about her upcoming photography show:
“I travel the world
both to interact with it
and to seek the Mystical
World. My new show
reflects the journeys I
have taken that are
mystical in nature, and
what the world reflects
back to me when I seek
to see underneath Her
"mundane" cloak, which
really is more of an
illusion than the spiritual
nature that She is.”
Shanti Balsé is a Co-op member.Click on Home to visit her Artist’s page.
William Di Dio,
Guest Artist for May
Sculpture
Reflectiing on his work and
process, William says,
"My Joy in sculpting comes
from the challenge of the
stone to release that which is
in it. For this, of course, I must
wait for the stone to tell me."
